Basic Info
Name:Duck Shimmy Designs!
Bio

Welcome to the Duck Shimmy Designs store, the place where I sell my creations. There's a lot to see, so get comfy, look around, and be sure to read the F.A.Q. before you order. ^_^

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do you make all of your stuff?
Yes. All the pieces I sell are created by me.

How do I place an order?
Fill out the order form that I have in my "how to order" section and e-mail it to duckshimmy@gmail.com.

What methods of payment do you accept?
I accept checks, money orders, and well concealed cash (at your own risk).

Why do you not offer Paypal as a payment option?
I'm just starting out, so for the time being, I only accept certain types of payment. In the future, it's highly likely that I will offer Paypal as a quicker alternative.

Where do I send my payment?
Duck Shimmy Designs has a P.O. Box. When you place an order, I'll send you an e-mail with your total and our P.O. Box address.

When will my item be shipped?
I ship out your order as soon as possible once I receive payment.

If I send you my payment, do you promise my item will actually arrive?
Of course! Duck Shimmy Designs is an honest place, and I assure you that your order will always be shipped. I wouldn't take the time to make all of these pieces if I didn't intend to send them.

Will you ever show my personal information to anyone else?
Never. When you send your personal information, it is guaranteed to be kept 100% confidential.

What countries do you ship to?
Right now, I only ship within the US.

I don't want my stuff to break. What do you ship your orders in?
I can't be held responsible for what happens to a package once it leaves my hands, but I definitely want your order to get to you in the same number of pieces it had when I made it. I take the necessary precautions when it comes to packaging. Some things are ok in an envelope. Other items need bubble wrap, and some things may need a box. I use my own judgment, because I know the postal service can be less than gentle sometimes.

How do you determine your prices?
I price my items according to how long the item took to make, how expensive the materials were, how much materials were used, and how much the item will cost to ship. Something small and heavy will generally cost more than something big and light, just like something that took hours to make will cost more than something that only took an hour or so.

Can I return my item or exchange it for something else?
Sorry. Duck Shimmy Designs does not currently support any returns or exchanges.

I don't see exactly what I want. Do you do custom orders?
Yes! I'm always willing to do requests. Just e-mail me at duckshimmy@gmail.com, explain what you want, and we'll discuss. I'm not Superwoman, but I can make most things.

How much do you charge for custom orders?
Custom orders run at the same rate as comparable work. For example, if you want a necklace, it will be about the same price as all my other necklaces, unless you want it incrusted in diamonds or something equally exotic. (Duck Shimmy Designs does not actually incrust in diamonds.)

I'm in love with this item, but it's been sold! Can you remake it for me?
As long as the item is not marked as being one of a kind, I can remake it for you. I can't guarantee that the new item will look exactly like the first one, but I'll try to get it as close as possible.

How much do you charge for remakes?
A remake is exactly the same price as the original.

Can my picture be on your Happy Customer page?
Certainly! Leave pictures of you with your Duck Shimmy Designs stuff in the comments of this page, or e-mail them to me at duckshimmy@gmail.com.

Do you do trades?
I prefer not to do trades. The only circumstance where I would be willing to make a trade would be if you had something really really amazing.

How can I know when you've updated with new items?
You can join my mailing list, and you'll be updated whenever I make something new. All you have to do is leave your e-mail address in a comment over here. (All comments are screened to protect your privacy.)

What exactly is "duck shimmy"?
Duck shimmy is the way ducks shake their butts from side to side, particularly after getting out of the water. ^_^
